A little bit about me.

Finalist: 2008 Photographer of the Year - International Competition

I love my job! What more can I say? I love the feeling of capturing that perfect split second moment of emotion. I love the feeling of creating an image from a vision in my head, and nailing it! I love seeing the reaction of the couples as they see the images for the first time. Its amazing. I am truly blessed to have the privilege of being a photographer.

I actually fell into this profession very much by accident. I was the owner of a music promotion and management company when I was 18 and studying at Penn State. I started to photograph the bands so they would have images for their press kits. I was hooked. I soon was shooting everything that I could get my hands on. Soon after I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to photograph my first wedding. It was the wedding of a high school classmate of mine and a childhood friend. I owe everything to Josh and Jen for giving me the opportunity to photograph their wedding.

The very next year we sold out for the season! Since then the business has grown into something I could have never imagined. It has allowed me to shoot in locations all across the country and soon the world! I have had the privilege to shoot along side of and learn from some of the best photographers in the world. These photographers include: Australian photographers Jerry Ghionis and Yervant, Joe Buissink, David Beckstead, John Michael Cooper (Altf), the Bebbs, and more.

I also have recently been invited to be an instructor at several of the PhotogShootOut workshops in front of over 70 professional photographers, as well as invited to become a member of the Circle of 8.

My work is always expanding. At every wedding or portrait session I try to do things that I have never done before.

When I am not photographing something, I love anything to do with movies and music. As a former performer I am very passionate about music. I love a lot of bands that people probably have never heard of. Movies to me are one of the most magical things on earth. I love seeing just about any movie that I can put my hands on. Some of you have seen my movie theater in my house with the 120" screen. It is definitely my favorite room in the house!

My next passion I will be exploring soon is traveling and seeing the world. I can't wait to get started.

Above all I love to have a great time every time I go out shooting. My fun and friendly style is something that my couples love, mixing photojournalism with fashion.

Thanks again for checking out the website!
Jeff

Mosaic Portrait - What do you think?

So I was playing around yesterday with a Mosaic program. Tell me what you think. I have found the farther away you are when you look at it, the more you can see it. I will post the original image under the Mosaic.

More Modeling Shots from Today!

Here are some shots that I did in studio earlier today. Now you might be saying… now wait Jeff, I thought you weren’t a back drop guy? Well usually I am not. But as we know PA is bitter cold at the moment, so we are doing some cool fashion looks instead with just white seamless paper, a cool ‘one light’ set up, and admittedly having a lot of fun with it. These two are high key shots, that I will definitely admit I am loving playing with this light setup! Check them out. More to come soon.

It was very exciting to be amongst some of these amazing photographers! Although we did not win the top spot, I feel greatly honored to have made it as one of the select finalists for this years competition.

Raddison Lackawanna Station Hotel - Scranton PA

Todays venue is the absolutely beautiful Radisson Lackawanna StationHotel in Scranton PA.

What a beautiful hotel located right next to the Steam Town Mall. We shot the wedding of Chris & Kate here back in May of 2008. The band Picture Perfect was also in attendance at the reception, playing all night. I hope you enjoy this set of images. I will be putting up Chris & Kate’s portrait session at Molly Brannigans later on.

Bye Bye DrPepper… My Friend… My Pal

drpepper23 So you are probably going to ask yourself, what on earth can this post be about? Well I made a decision yesterday to try and kick my soda habit!

I LOVE Dr. Pepper. I think it is the best tasting thing on earth. However, recently I have really been paying attention to just how bad soda is for you. About 7 months ago I switched to almost all diet sodas. I thought since these were 0 calorie drinks that I was doing a great thing, and I solved my problem! I thought that I could drink drink drink away because its zero calories, Right? Wrong!

It turns out that diet sodas actually might be more harmful to you then regular soda! The sugar replacement that is used in diet sodas has been linked to cancer and tumors. Now, I love the taste of Dr. Pepper, but is it worth it? No.

So starting yesterday I have started my attempt of kicking my soda habit. Why on earth am I putting this on my blog you ask? Well I want this blog to be about more then just my photography. It can be used as a way to get to know me a little better and what I am about as well. It will also be helpful I think in encouraging me to stay soda free if I feel someone is watching my progress.

So here starts day 2! I expect withdraws soon haha.

Pat & Erin at The Highlands, Dallas, PA

I type to you from the wonderful Bar Louie Restaurant in the Mohegan Sun Casino at the Pocono Downs, Wilkes Barre, PA. I am eating a wonderful plate of macaroni and cheese. YUM!

What an awesome winter wedding we had yesterday. It was such a nice family and couple. It was my first time shooting an actual ceremony inside of the Highlands as we are normally outside in the garden.

The lights at night made for some really awesome portrait time. I hope you enjoy two photos from the event below. Well back to eating for now!
